The group will play a specially commissioned pieced,
the ‘H2-Overture’, which includes extracts from various well-known melodies with a watery theme.
Anglian Water’s ‘Music in the Pipeline’ campaign received a grant from Arts & Business. The pipes were provided by GPS PE Pipe systems Ltd and the musical instruments – which are all hybrids, part brass and part blue water pipe – were created by Sterling Brass Instruments Ltd. The H2-Overture was composed by Leigh Baker, the composer-in-residence at the world famous Brighouse and Rastrick Brass Band.
Anglian Water has one of the lowest leakage rates in the country . The company spends more than £15m each year tackling leakage on its network of 37,000km of pipes. A team of more than a hundred people works on leak detection and repair.
