Introduction
Anglian Water is offering schools the chance to deliver relevant national curriculum linked programmes about water and the environment to their pupils, in an interactive and stimulating environment, right at their door. The new Anglian Water Mobile Education Centre is now available to schools within the Anglian Water region. The centre will travel the region throughout the year going to primary/middle schools and some community events. We offer an exciting education programme in the centre that will help students and the community understand the role of Anglian Water in the water cycle.

What can we offer on the centre?
We can deliver a variety of stimulating teaching sessions on water (based on the requirements of the National Curriculum). The individual sessions cover key units in a number of curriculum areas for Key Stage 2 such as geography and science.

What age group?
We can deliver to ages 7-11 year olds Key Stage 2.

How long are the sessions?
Sessions are about 45 minutes and can be planned around your school day.

How many children/people can go on the centre at a time?
Half a class group. 15-16 children plus one adult.

Access
Access to the centre is by stairs at the side of the vehicle and we also have full disabled access at the rear of the vehicle.

The team
There are normally two members of staff on the vehicle; the Education Centre Manager and the driver/assistant . Both members will have had enhanced CRB checks. We will expect a teacher or the teaching assistant to be with the children at each session.

Safety
The Anglian Water team will do a thorough risk assessment for every school visit. We require a school to plan carefully for our visit and ensure children do not play within the area where the vehicle is parked. We would request electrical cables from the school linked to the vehicle are secured in a safe position.

Is there a cost?
We are pleased to say there is no cost for the Centre to schools but we do require a source of electricity and water.

Size of the Vehicle
Length with cab: 17m long x 2.5m wide. With pod extended (presentation position): 17m long x 8m wide. 5.5 Tonne max about 1,250 payload and 7.5 Tonne with cab.
