Business in the Community announced this in May 2008. This award is the Merrill Lynch Education Award category of Awards for Excellence in 2008. The Big Tick is given to companies that can demonstrate the positive impact of their responsible business practices and is a highly respected endorsement. The decision was made by a panel of independent, experienced practitioners, and as such is both hard won, and highly prestigious.
The entry was also shortlisted by the assessment panel to become the 2008 Example of Excellence. The Education Award category for Awards for Excellence 2009 has been assessed and has been re-accredited with a 2009 Big Tick. The Big Tick endorses companies that have demonstrated significant impact and high quality management.
