When the particles get too big to float in the sky they turn into drops of rain which fall to the ground. This is called precipitation.
The water sometimes comes down as snow, hail or sleet. It either soaks into the ground to give groundwater, or it flows away to streams and rivers. Some water finds its way to the sea while other water ends up in reservoirs, lakes, even puddles!
